Privacy Policy

Effective

The short version

StreamAscent IPTV has no servers of its own. We don’t collect, store, sell or share your personal information, because there’s essentially nowhere for it to go: everything the app does happens directly between your device and either your own provider or Apple.

The rest of this page explains, in plain language, everything the app and this website touch that could be considered your data — even small, ordinary things like an update check.

Who is responsible

This Privacy Policy is published by Nicolas Laforge, based in Québec, Canada. For anything about this policy — including exercising the rights described later on this page — write to support@streamascent.com.

For the purposes of Québec’s private-sector privacy law, commonly known as Law 25, that same person is also the one responsible for the protection of personal information — there is no separate privacy office or team.

Your provider credentials

The server address, username and password you enter for your own provider are sent only to the server address you typed — never to us, because we have no server of our own for them to reach.

Your password is stored only in your iCloud Keychain, protected by Apple’s end-to-end encryption; we cannot read it, and it is never included in the profile data StreamAscent IPTV syncs between your devices (see iCloud sync, below).

iCloud sync

StreamAscent IPTV uses your own iCloud account to keep your devices in sync, through Apple’s iCloud key-value store. What syncs is: your provider profiles (minus the password, which stays in Keychain as described above), your favorites, your watch progress and watched markers, and the date you started your StreamAscent Pro trial, if you started one.

This data lives in your iCloud account and is visible only to your own signed-in devices. We cannot see it — it never passes through any server of ours.

Downloads

Anything you download for offline viewing stays on the device that downloaded it. Downloads are never uploaded anywhere and never synced between your devices — each device keeps only its own.

AI subtitles

The first time you generate AI subtitles, StreamAscent IPTV downloads a speech-recognition model from Hugging Face. That download looks like any ordinary file download to Hugging Face: they see your device’s IP address and that a download happened, with no StreamAscent account attached — we don’t have accounts — and nothing about what you’re watching.

After that one-time download, your audio is transcribed on your device, and translation, when you use it, runs through Apple’s on-device translation framework. No audio, video or transcript leaves your device for this feature. AI subtitles are not available on Apple TV.

Checking for updates

When StreamAscent IPTV checks whether a newer version is available, it asks Apple’s iTunes Lookup API, sending only the app’s bundle identifier and your App Store storefront country — the same information anyone can look up publicly. No personal or device identifier is sent.

Trailers

Opening a trailer from a title’s details page loads an embedded YouTube player inside the app. From that moment, Google — YouTube’s operator — receives what it ordinarily receives from an embedded player, such as your device’s IP address and its interaction with the player, handled under Google’s own privacy policy, not ours.

Trailers load only when you open one yourself; StreamAscent IPTV never loads a trailer automatically. This feature is not available on Apple TV.

Streams and artwork

The live TV, movies and series you watch, the program guide data, and the artwork you see all come from your own provider’s servers and from whatever image hosts your provider’s catalog points to. Those servers see your device’s IP address when it requests something from them, the same as any server does. We are not in that path at all — the request goes from your device to your provider, not through us.

Purchases

When you buy StreamAscent Pro, Apple processes the payment. We never receive your name, card details or e-mail address from a purchase — only anonymous, aggregated sales reports that tell us how many purchases were made, not who made them.

Contacting support

If you e-mail us — for support, feedback or anything else — we receive whatever you choose to send: your address, your message, and, only if you attach one, a diagnostic log.

That diagnostic log has your provider credentials scrubbed before it’s something you could even share. If you separately opt in, you can also attach a sample of your provider’s catalog, with your password removed, to help us reproduce a problem. Neither is collected automatically — you choose to attach them.

We use what you send only to reply to you. We keep support e-mails, and anything attached to them, for up to 24 months after your request is resolved, then delete them.

You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time — write to support@streamascent.com.

This website

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from any third party — that’s why there’s no cookie banner.

The site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. from its edge network. To deliver each page and protect its network, Cloudflare processes your IP address, user agent, the URL you requested, the referring page and the time of the request, under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy — not ours. We run no analytics product, keep no access log of our own, and have Cloudflare’s Workers observability and Web Analytics features switched off, so we cannot see individual visits; our Cloudflare dashboard shows only aggregate traffic counts, such as total requests, countries and status codes.

If Cloudflare’s abuse protection ever challenges a visitor — for example, if it suspects automated traffic — it may set a security cookie of its own before you reach the site. The site itself sets none.

Analytics and advertising

We use no analytics or advertising of any kind, in the app or on this website, and we don’t use or collect an advertising identifier.

Children’s privacy

StreamAscent IPTV is not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, child or adult — in keeping with everything above, there is essentially nothing for us to collect from anyone.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete whatever personal information we hold about you. In practice, because of everything described above, that will only ever be the content of support e-mails you’ve chosen to send us — write to us at the address given earlier on this page to ask.

If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can also complain to your local data protection authority — in Québec, that’s the Commission d’accès à l’information; elsewhere, your own jurisdiction’s equivalent regulator.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as StreamAscent IPTV changes. A new version appears at this same address with a new effective date, printed below and again at the bottom of this page when you print it.

Questions about this policy can be sent to support@streamascent.com.
